Jamorrey Gosha, a child of the most high God, is a preacher, community leader, and the passionate founder of The Focus Initiative. This faith-based, service-driven nonprofit organization spreads the compassion of Christ through active community service and engagement.

Under his guidance, The Focus Initiative has launched transformative programs serving several counties within East Alabama and West Georgia such as the JAMentorship Program for Boys, the Immanuel Project Holiday Outreach, a powerful three-fold scholarship program and the annual “Focus Forward Empowerment Gathering” — a multi-day event that draws hundreds of individuals to downtown Phenix City for captivating worship, dynamic breakout sessions, a massive community giveaway, and an unmatched gala experience. 

Within twenty-four months of operation, The Focus Initiative has raised thousands of dollars to support dozens of students, families, and communities in the areas of faith, education, and service. Jamorrey is also an advocate for collaboration, forming partnerships and serving on various advisory boards with schools, businesses, nonprofits, and faith communities to create sustainable impact.

A proud member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL, Jamorrey serves with dedication on the ministerial staff and the youth ministry.  Jamorrey also serves as district missionary for the Southeast District State Convention of the Alabama Missionary Baptist Convention.

Jamorrey’s love for itinerant ministry has opened doors for him to preach in numerous places, including Maai Mahiu, Kenya, Africa. From Alabama to Africa, each experience has deepened his passion for sharing the Gospel across cultures and communities, inspiring people near and far to live with faith and purpose.

As a senior majoring in Elementary Education at Alabama State University, Jamorrey combines academic excellence with a deep commitment to service. His education fuels his innovative approach to leadership, equipping him to tackle challenges with purpose and creativity. 

During his leisure time, Jamorrey enjoys traveling, spending time with family, singing, playing the piano, and cooking. With an unwavering dedication to faith, education, and community service, his favorite quote is "If I can bring someone to Christ, I would know my living would not be in vain."
